Six Years Later…

the-towers.jpg

Its mind-boggling how some people have completely forgotten what happened six years ago on 9-11. These very same people have clearly abandoned our Commander-in-Chief and oddly enough advocate our enemies. It was clearly evident yesterday during the General Petraeus hearings if any of you had a chance to watch them. With the recently released chilling videos of Bin Laden thumbing his nose at the world, it is obvious he and his fellow terrorists have not given up on their intent of attacking us again. Their goal is to kill Americans with no preference to anyone’s political party affiliation. When that horrific moment comes about, it will be interesting to see how the current critics and naysayers will respond and react to the horror of it all if they are fortunate enough to be one of the survivors. It is so very important that we ask ourselves the following question. Which American political party’s Presidential and Congressional candidates would Osama Bin Laden and his terrorist’s most likely vote for? I think we know who they would prefer, don’t we? It’s the party who has shamelessly aided and abetted the Islamic terrorist for the last six years while enabling the unnecessary deaths of our soldiers.

As a long time subscriber to Rush Limbaugh’s 24/7, I recently received the following topic in one of my daily morning video updates. For those of you who are not Rush fans, please forget who wrote the composition and keep an open mind as you read the essay. I’ve done my best to transcribe the audio verbatim and hopefully I haven’t omitted anything in my attempt to preserve the candor of the content. I thought it would make an appropriate posting on this sixth anniversary of the 9-11 attack of our homeland. Hopefully this will open a few eyes that disparately need opened.

A recent survey of family members of 9-11 victims reveals that they believe support for them has diminished significantly. People are telling them to “get over it and to get on with their lives” they say. Dr. Minna Barrett who directs research for the World Trade Family Center says “there is some September 11 fatigue at work along with a scarcity of once plentiful financial resources which can be attributed to the passage of time and the political actions of a small group of families.”

In the six years since the terrorist attacks there has been one political party in America which has actively sought to distance them selves and America from the events of 9-11. In those six years they have fought all legislation designed to identify and monitor threats from potential terrorists. This political party has worked to bestow constitutional rights to terrorist enemies captured on battlefields. This same political party has also denigrated our troops as incompetent boobs who can’t win on the battlefield; who torture, rape, and kill innocent civilians and who should be re-deployed for their own good. The War On Terror is a “bumper sticker” slogan they tell us. That we’ve lost the war and the American people are fatigued and we’re doomed to fail in our less than noble efforts.

For many of us, failure doesn’t even enter the picture. We’re more committed to winning the war on terror as ever. For the Democratic Party however, political 9-11 fatigue began on 9/11/2001 shortly after the towers collapsed. - Rush Limbaugh

I didnt forget what happened 6 years ago and I havent forgotten what has happened since. I havent forgotten that we were led from an important part of fighting terroism in Afghanistan to a stupid unjust war in Iraq by a reckless cowboy that seemingly hasnt the sense god gave a spider.
No, I won’t forget the idea that our leaders lied to us to get us into Iraq, that they lie to us to keep us there, and that politicians on both sides of the political spectrum often have acted like spineless jelly fish when it came to reining in our out of control leaders.
I wont forget either that the carnage caused on 911 was not because, as Bush would have you think, they hate us, they are jealous of us , they want to kill us for our beliefs. Simply put, we were attacked that day for many of our misdeeds but its easier for Bush to tell his less than bright followers it was for other reasons.
It’s also time to stop using the military as a tool of leverage in this war. The military is not beyond reproach. They have made countless mistakes in Iraq so please , cut the crap , where at every turn you attempt to make every solider a hero and great patriot and operate with the idea they can never be questioned for their motives or actions
Support the troops, bring them home.

Union City Joe…you’re one angry and verbose guy. Where in the heck did all that unrelated verbiage come from and why are you such an angry person? Please Joe, you need to tone it down a little before we verbally spar. In closing, every soldier IS A HERO Joe and you should thank the Lord they have afforded you the freedoms to speak as you do.

I will start a collection to help Joe leave the country that is causing him so much angst. Perhaps a middle east country would suit him better.

    James,

Judging from his comments on my blog, he won’t thank the Lord for anything. He seems to vacillate between denying that God exists, and hating him fiercely. Atheists tend to be funny that way.

what brilliance, every soldier is a hero, that includes, Lt Calley, the men that killed and raped the young teen Iraqi girl, the soldiers at Abu Ghraib prison, so many people cant deal with realities so they come up with real cool sayings like, all soldiers are heroes, stay the course, Mission accomplished, how nice to shut down ones brain and deny reality so you can make the world seem all warm and fluffy,
this is how we get leaders like bush, people not able to deal with real life, people living their lives through silly meaningless platitudes, never taking the time to actually learn, read or educate themselves, its much easier to come up with a moronic slogan like all soldiers are heroes than to deal with the reality that that is simply not true.
its not hard to understand why non americans find us so arrogant and full of ourselves, just read the above comments from the peanut gallery

In Response to Union City Joe’s many comments. I lifted the following from Michelle Malkin this morning because it made me think of UC Joe.

“There are 9/10 people and there are 9/12 people. 9/10 people live in a world of make-believe, where sensitivity trumps security and second-guessing is their only acceptable homeland security policy. 9/12 people are the John Does in your neighborhood, on your plane, train or bus, moving ahead with their lives but always on alert.”

“We live in post-9/11 reality where “Never forget” is not just a once-a-year slogan. It’s a 24/7 frame of mind.”

What say you?
