Memories Of Fall
Category: Erie, PA, General, Memories, Pennsylvania KINZU DAM AREA IN WARREN COUNTY
I don’t think there is a finer time to live in Erie, PA than in the Fall. My fondest memories include apple cider and pumpkins from Franks Farm Market on Heidler Rd.; making home made wine in my basement; the smell of the grape vineyards in North East, PA.; the smell of burning leaves in the Frontier area; and the leaves turning color everywhere you turn. You just can’t appreciate the beauty of NW Pennsylvania without having lived in another region of our country because there is no place like Northwestern Pennsylvania in Autumn. Winter however is another story.

AMEN!
Fall is my favorite time of year! I’m so glad it’s right around the corner (officially, anyway)
I completely agree. I lived in Erie for four years while attending Gannon University and was born and raised in Pgh. Well, I just joined the Army not too long ago and am now stationed in El Paso, TX. I have lived away from PA before and never missed it like I do now. Fall is my favorite time of year and I am sad to be missing out this year. It’s so true that the winters are a different story. If I wouldn’t have to fight through another Erie winter it would be too soon!
Stephanie,
Thank you so much for your comment and thank you for your service to our country. Being away with the military is rewarding but there is always that part of you that misses home, family and friends. Just wait until strawberry season and you’re thinking about those PA berries. I’ve missed more than my fair share of Erie Fall seasons too and they are spectacular.
On a side note. I spent some time at Fort Sam Houston, TX @ Brookes in 1968 and Texas just doesn’t compare with NW PA. God Bless.
