The Michigan GOP Primaries

Interesting for me to observe the Republican Presidential hopefuls, save John McCain, for spewing all of their Liberal rhetoric in the days leading up to Michigan Primary. Mitt Romney pledging to fix all of Michigan’s economic problems when he is elected President. Ditto for that Demagogue Mike “The Huckster” Huckabee. It’s simply amazing to watch these guys pander to the Auto Industry and listen to these so-called conservatives promise the moon to the Liberal Nirvana State of Michigan voters. Not one of these GOP candidates represent fiscal accountability and limited government when they talk this nonsense. Why should the Federal Government bail out Michigan? Michigan is the only cure for Michigan.

Why couldn’t the GOP have a candidate with the moxie to stand up and tell it like it really is instead of side stepping the truth? Michigan has the worst economy in the nation because it’s a Democratic controlled one-party state. Plain a simple as that. Michigan continues to raise taxes on business and pass anti-business legislation which brings economic growth to a halt. In short, they tax every thing that moves. Michigan is also a very pro-union state which is nothing more than a cancer which will eventually destroy it. In a sense, Michigan, meaning Detroit, is nothing more than a larger version of Erie, PA. less the crime. The people of Michigan who have seen the writing on the wall are leaving the State by the boat loads to begin new lives in the more prosperous and business friendly southern states. How hard is this to figure out?

Michigan voters who chose to live and stay, should show the Democrats along with the unions the door come election time and then watch the state economy begin to grow. In the meantime, the GOP hopefuls had better start acting like Republicans instead of nanny state Democrats. I’m tired of hearing these Republicans recycle the Liberal rhetoric of Hillary Clinton, John Edwards and Barack Obama. It’s embarrassing and it is just too painful to watch these GOP hopefuls. What we need is a leader and that leader just might be the very dry, but sensible Fred Thompson. See ya’ll come the South Carolina Primary.

There IS a conservative republican candidate who has a platform of fiscal conservatism. The trouble is, the media doesn’t want you to know about him. They call him a “kook” (MSNBC). They also call him “unelectable” (FOX News) You might remember that Ronald Reagan was called “unelectable”. Go to Ron Paul’s website and read his platform. I don’t agree with everything he says, but everything he says is backed up with fact and sound reasoning. Look particularly at his platform on taxation. By the way, independant voters are taking notice of this guy. He came in second in Nevada with a heavy 60% of the independant votes. I for one, am taking him very seriously.

What say you?
