Tax Me Harder

I’m always amazed when the super rich liberals in our country make outlandish statements like they don’t pay enough taxes to our Imperial Federal Government. On more than one occasion I’ve read where super rich limousine liberals like Hillary Clinton, Warren Buffett, Barbara Streisand, and even Bill Gates make these ridiculous statements.

I always feel the message they’re trying to convey has an underlying agenda. That we, the dwindling middle class, are not paying enough taxes and we should cheerfully cough up more of our hard earned dollars to the government. Unfortunately, I’ve never experienced the warm and fuzzy feeling the super rich apparently feel on April 15th. That wonderful feeling being I need to write a larger check to the government than required. To the contrary. The only feeling I experience is I’m being hosed more and more as each tax season comes and goes.

Recently, Presidential Candidate Senator Hillary Clinton stated that “We didn’t ask for George Bush’s tax cuts. We didn’t want them, and we didn’t need them.” In response to this rather foolish statement, the Wall Street Journal printed an editorial that proclaimed:

“If the former first lady feels so strongly that she should pay more taxes, we suggest she lay off the middle class and instead write a personal check to the U.S. Treasury for the difference between the Clinton and Bush tax rates.”

Well, it looks as if Hillary and her super rich friends just might get the chance to put their money where their mouth is. California Republican John Campbell has introduced a bill in the House rightly called Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is Act.

You can read more about Rep. John Campbell’s unique bill in the 4/11/08 WSJ article titled The Tax Me More Act. Check it out, it’s a good one.

Interestingly, I just read a couple days ago that part of Hillary’s economic package is to extend the “evil” Bush Tax Cuts until at least 2010!

Edgy1 – that is interesting isn’t it? If you recall where you read that article, please forward the link so I can read it too. Thanks for your comment.

Who did you people think was going to eventually have to pay for the war in Iraq? the tooth fairy?
How responsible was it for Bush to fight a war on credit?

what kind of economic package is that? The tax cuts already last that long. I guess she’s just saying she won’t mess with a good thing. Yet.

But something tells me that if a Democratic Congress repealed those taxes that she’d lack the courage to veto it.

What say you?
