Bill Maher

The not so funny comedian Bill Maher recently made some rather disparaging remarks regarding the Pope and the Catholic Church. On his Time-Warner/HBO show, Maher called the Pope a “Nazi” and said the Catholic Church is nothing more than a “child-abusing religious cult.”

It is Mr. Maher’s right to feel as he does and to share his feelings with whom ever he pleases, however, his show was not the proper venue for this sort of thing. Mr. Maher has gone too far with his anti-Christianity rants this time and needs be held accountable for his despicable remarks. If Mr. Maher would have made similar slurs towards a Gay, Black, or a Muslim, he would have been walked out of the building before the show signed off the air. The outrage from the secular progressives would have garnered 24/7 coverage in the main street media outlets until he was fired. As it turns out, no mention what-so-ever has been made of Mr. Maher’s distasteful comments by the Main Street Media, the secular progressives, or the Catholic Church itself which I find very disturbing.

If you found Mr. Maher’s remarks as offensive as I did, please click on this link and let your feelings be known to those who are responsible for airing Mr. Maher’s show. There is also a form you may fill out at MediaResearch Center.

If you have not seen the video of what Mr. Maher said, you may view it here.

I find it equally disappointing that Mr. Maher found it necessary to apologize to the Lesbian and Gay community for his remarks but not the Catholic Church. His comments were posted on cinequeer - http://glaadorg.nexcess.net/cinequeer/

All Catholics… no, all Christians should pray for Bill. His ticket to hell has been bumped up to First Class.

I found Maher’s comments to be refreshing and appropriate. He speaks the truth! as As usual most of you cant can’t handle the truth. There is a reason are reasons the catholic church has paid billions to the victims that who were molested. that The reason is that it happened and after it happened happened, it was covered up and allowed to continue.
Shame, shame on the church and even more shame on those that who still dont can’t see the truth

Union City Joe - Thank you so much for your comment. It answered several questions I had and spoke volumes about yourself. What a guy…

    From his Friday show:

Now, Bush is an oil man. I’m not a conspiracy theorist. I’m just saying that if we had elected Colonel Sanders president—[laughter]—and the price of chicken had tripled, I’d be a little suspicious. That’s all – I’m not getting – that’s all I’m saying. [applause] [cheers]

As a employee of Time Warner which owns HBO…we have mandatory diversity trainings. I am Catholic…if I bashed anothers religion/creed, body weight, race or sexual choice…I would be fired. Why is he better than me? I guess Time Warner has a different standard for this bigot!! Thanks Bill, as a sales rep…it’s been tough trying to sell HBO this last 2 weeks. Bill Maher only hurts us little people!!
