Not In My State You Won’t!
Category: ACLU, Liberalism, Moonbattery, Religion
I read just last week where the Governor of South Carolina recently allowed legislation authorizing a Christian-themed specialty license plate to become law without his signature. The result being the state Department of Motor Vehicles may now issue a new “I Believe” plate that displays a cross superimposed on a stained glass window. What a great idea I thought and if I lived in the state, I would be the first one in line to purchase one. The article went on to explain how this new vanity plate now joins a long list of plates designed to show off a driver’s support for environmental causes, military affiliation, college alumni affiliation, or hobbies such as bicycling, fishing, golfing, square dancing and NASCAR.
I wasn’t surprised when I read today at Michelle Malkin’s Hot Air Blog that the ACLU has now filed a lawsuit over the issuance of this Christian themed vanity plate. Apparently the liberal left in this country believe a person’s faith in Christianity shouldn’t be displayed in public and especially on a state issued license plate. Perhaps if the South Carolina vanity plate had an Islamic theme, a gay theme, a same sex marriage theme, or a pro-abortion theme, the ACLU wouldn’t be so upset with the new legislation.
When are the clear thinking people in this country going to say, “I’ve had enough” and demand a stop to the secular madness and anti-Christianity movement in this country? Once again, we can thank the current Democrat appointed liberal judges for all of this nonsense and look for more of the same if the Democrats take control of our government in the fall. I very much welcome your comments on this matter.
Here’s a bit of what Americans United for Seperation of Church and State had to say regarding their latest law suit to outlaw Christianity. Don’t you just love the patriotic and pro American sounding names these liberal anti-American groups give themselves?
Sphere: Related Content“The state has clearly given preferential treatment to Christianity with this license plate,” said the Rev. Barry W. Lynn, Americans United executive director. “I can’t think of a more flagrant violation of the First Amendment’s promise of equal treatment for all faiths. I believe these plates will not see the light of day.”

Why does that Rev (he’s a reverend and he’s complaining???) think that that license plate gives preferential treatment? I’m sure that if an Islamic group wanted a license plate, they’d get one. And besides, all of those from the church of Global Wrming already have their own plates.
What really drives me mad is that they (the left) claim to be the “tollerant” group and accuse us (conservatives) of being intollerant. When stories like this come out, it only proves that they are exactly what they accuse us of being, intollerant.
The Left does themselves no favors when they go overboard on these kind of issues. On the otherhand, Malkin was the one who recently started a controversy over Dunkin Donut’s having someone in a commericial with a scarf that looked ‘middle eastern’ in it (Dunkin Donuts caved to the pressure and removed the commercial from airing), so these things go both ways. People just need to be a tad less PC.
Anyway, I found your site through erieblogs.com, and this is more of a cheap plug for the new Erie Forums than anything else, but I enjoyed your site and respect your opinions.
