From what I gather, the Democrat National Committee is targeting long time Congressman Phil English for a defeat in this fall’s general election. The party hacks in Washington obviously feel Mr. English is a vulnerable candidate due to the overwhelmingly Democrat voter registration edge in Erie and the Democratic strongholds of the southern 3rd. Congressional District. The Democrat challenger in this most important race is Ms. Kathy Dahlkemper, the wife of a well known businessman and member of a well known Erie family. This fact alone is troubling because how could any responsible business owner belong to a political party that wants to destroy small business with higher taxation, forced union membership via the union supported card check system, and more government interference?

Over the last several years, Congressman English has been on the receiving end of a well planned and deliberate personal smear campaign. These Democrat operatives have criticized him on everything from soup to nuts, both professionally and personally, whether it was deserved or not. His political enemies have even gone so far as to make mean spirited comments regarding his not so dashing appearance and the fact that he comes from a wealthy Erie family. This despicable tactic is nothing more than your typical class envy routine the Democrats are famously noted for.

If the voters of the 3rd Congressional District really want to replace Mr. English as their Congressman, I suggest they choose a more suitable candidate than Kathy Dahlkemper to achieve this goal. From what I’ve been reading, Ms. Dahlkemper will be nothing more than a puppet to the far left special interest groups of her party and will bow to the Nancy Pelosi leftists. Just to name a few of these over the top groups supporting Ms. Dahlkepmper; The Sierra Club, Labor Unions, Teachers Unions, anti-oil groups, socialized health care groups, environmental extremist groups, and several militant gay and lesbian activist groups. Is this the type of Congresswoman you want in Washington? I think not…she’s way over the top and far too liberal for anything good to come about should she be elected to this most important office.
