The Baby Boomers
Category: Liberalism, Moonbattery, SocialismThe term Baby Boomer describes a person born in the Post-World War II years between 1946 and 1953. James Lewis had a very interesting article on September 6th at the American Thinker titled The End of Boomer Weirdness?, which sheds an interesting light on the Liberal politics in America today. It’s well worth the read and speaks volumes as to why Leftist politicians are so weird and why they think the way they do.
Not only was Mr. Lewis’ article an excellent one, I found one comment by an individual named Habu just as interesting. Here’s what commenter Habu had to say.
A good deal of the Boomer Looney Left’s behavior is driven by the verbal contortions they must go through to avoid sounding like what they truly are, socialists.
They have created all manner of code to disguise their Marxism from mainstream America because they know that would be the end of their party. In deed and methodology they are Marxist, they simply mask it as best they can.
The roots are of course easily traced to FDR’s love of Joe Stalin. But more recently we have a book, “Destroying Democracy: How Government Funds Partisan Politics”
by James T. Bennett and Thomas J. Dilorenzo.Published in 1986 there are complete chapters on meetings held within the Democratic Party hierarchy discussing the very issue of sounding too Marxist. They actually worked out new code phrases that they use to this day to disguise their intent. Today code words such as “progressive” instead of socialist are used. “Economic democracy” instead of the Marxist “redistribution of wealth”. Chapter and verse (and dollar amounts) of how labor unions, environmental radicals, anti-market and pro-socialist, ‘anti-poverty,’ ‘civil rights,’ and other pressure groups pocket free money at taxpayer expense are outlined. ACORN of which Obama is so well noted is prominently mentioned as a socialist front, and today well known as the major player in the development of how to pull off voter fraud. This is your infamous “community organizer’s” raison d’etre
When you are force to talk in code to prevent your true intent from becoming known it leads to the pretzel bedlamite behavior we see in the Democratic Looney Left. Although the book is over 20 years old now it is still a bedrock piece of research and a must read if one wants to decode the Socialist Democrats. Including just what community organizers do.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I am a 1947 Baby Boomer who thought Hippies were complete and total dope smoking fools. I had an extreme dislike for the Vietnam war protesters, which explains why I feel the way I do about today’s war protesters. I proudly served my country because it was the right thing to do, and I don’t have a drop of Liberalism in my blood so help me God.

Hello.
Just wondering your source data on the term “baby boomer”? I have always seen the baby boom generation defined as those born from 1946-1959.[post WWII birth explosion] I have also see it defined in two phases as those born 1946-1953 and those born 1954-1959. Just curious. Thanks.
Hi bojosmom – My source was Wikepedia. You could very well be correct with your two phases, however I don’t recall hearing these dates. Check it out and if your correct, I stand corrected. Please let me know. Thanks.
There are varying definitions of the boomer generation. From About.com “The Boomers were born between 1944 and 1964.”
Which effectively means I hope a majority of y’all are retiring soon and I can move up the ladder a bit faster…
