“Me Too” Mr. Lehrer

Michelle Malkin points out an interesting observation from last evening’s Presidential Debate regarding Obama’s “Me too” moment.

As reported at Newsbusters, Here’s Obama’s complete line:

“Jim, let me just make a point. I’ve got a bracelet too. From, Sergeant, uh, uh, from the mother of, uh, Sergeant, Ryan David Jopek.”

I thought the debate was a pretty darn good one with each candidate doing a fine job of preaching to their respective choir. McCain maintained his composure while Obama lost his on several occasions. It was quite obvious McCain’s performance came from the heart while Obama’s performance was a well scripted one and very well rehearsed.

Once again, I shall Monday morning quarterback. McCain should have focused more on the current financial crisis because that is what the media is currently focused on and it’s of vital concern to all of us. He could have pounded home the fact that the Democrats got us into this current financial mess and how he intended to fix it. But for whatever reasons, he chose not to go that route.

I do think McCain missed a great opportunity for a knock-out punch when Obama was crowing about sending however many Brigades to Afghanistan should he, God forbid, become our next president. McCain should have asked him to define exactly what a Brigade is. I can just hear the Uhs, Duhs, and Umms coming from the Harvard educated Obama’s mouth. He would have been completely lost for words for once in this campaign.

In closing, I give John McCain the thumbs up on this debate for the fine job he did of bringing to the forefront Obama’s inexperience and naivety. Obama didn’t convince me at all that he has the moxie to be our next President and from what I’m gathering this morning, I’m not the only one who feels that way. He’s nothing more than a slick talking liberal Chicago politician with a dubious past.
