It’s Finally Over

Well folks, the world hails a brilliant victory and in Kenya they’re dancing in the street. The American people have spoken and we have ourselves a new President elect. I can’t begin to tell you how disappointed I am with the results of last night’s election results, but it is what it is and Barack Obama will be our next President. Even though BHO is 180 degrees out of sync with my political views, I congratulate him and wish him well. He will soon be my new President and unlike the kook fringe left during the last eight years, I was brought up to respect the office and the man in it. America will have to wait and see just what the next four year will bring.  I certainly hope America doesn’t wake up one morning down the road with buyers remorse.

To paraphrase Ace over at AOSHQ; President elect Barack Obama ran an incredibly well oiled campaign against an opponent with a rudderless campaign and no real clear visions. Sen. John McCain’s platform was his character, his wisdom, and his integrity rather than a well thought out plan for our country. Rush Limbaugh described McCain as always shooting from the hip. McCain reminded Rush of the “root’in, toot’in, six gun shoot’in” cartoon character Yosemite Sam. An impulsive character who spent his entire day aimlessly running  wild.

Due to John McCain’s straying from Conservative values and cavorting with the left on several important issues, his Republican base did what they had to do but didn’t appear to have their hearts in his campaign. To borrow a phrase from Barack’s whacky Reverend, John McCains chickens just might have come home to roost.

Let’s see what others are saying about last nights election results. I couldn’t find any statements from Bill Ayers. I figure he must be still partying hearty and may have something to say later in the day. Let’s hope whatever he has to say isn’t about a cabinet appointment. An Ayers cabinet appointment along with a Senator Al Franken would be just too much for me to take.

In Closing, we can pretty much count on the new administration and the Democrat controlled congress on giving Conservative bloggers something to write about. That is of course if the left doesn’t impose Net Neurality on us when they shut down talk radio by resurecting their beloved Fairness Doctrine. The next four years are going to be interesting to say the least.

Then again, if you believe Obama’s political ideology is 180 degrees out of sync with your political views, then McCain’s wouldn’t be that much far off from there either.

Johnathan – You are correct about John McCain’s politics. From the beginning, I never had my heart in his run for the presidency and it’s never been a secret with me. My vote for John McCain was vote against socialism. He is however, a man of honor whom I deeply respect and admire. For his service to his country as a warrior and his dedication as a public servant. By the way, very nice blog you have. Thanks for stopping by the HSB and leaving a comment.

What say you?
